The show, and the three start times in circulation

The venue’s own calendar lists Ty Myers: The Legal Tour 2026 on Friday, October 16. Live Nation, which manages the venue, publishes the start as 7:30 PM.

Then it gets messy. A major resale site lists this date at 8:00 PM, and a music app lists it at 7:00 PM. Three start times for one show. The rule we follow is simple. Take the time from the operator, not the seller. Live Nation runs this building, so 7:30 PM is the number to plan around.

Doors are genuinely not published yet. The venue says event specific times go up closer to each date, and that gates usually open 90 minutes before the start. That points to roughly 6:00 PM, and we are labeling it an estimate rather than printing it as fact. The venue’s own visit guide is where the real number will appear.

There is no parking lot, and that is not an oversight you can work around

Most venue pages bury parking. Here it is the first thing to solve, because the venue states plainly that it has no parking lots. You are using city streets, public decks, or a paid reservation through its parking partner.

Locals have settled on an answer that costs nothing. Park up North 4th Street or 3rd Street and walk in, because city meters are free in the evening. Plan for a walk of roughly three quarters of a mile if you take a street spot.

The second reason to park farther out is the exit. Fans who parked closest describe waiting about 20 minutes just to get out, while people who walked in from a few blocks away simply left. On a sold out Friday, that gap gets wider.

Blankets and chairs are allowed here. They were banned the night before

If you are doing both North Carolina dates, this is the detail that will catch you.

The Cary show on Thursday bans blankets, towels and mats outright. Wilmington on Friday allows small blankets up to 4 feet by 8 feet and low profile lawn chairs with a seat no more than 9 inches off the ground. It also rents chairs on site, and you can book a rental in advance.

Same state, consecutive nights, opposite rules. Pack for Wilmington, and leave the blanket in the car for Cary.

The lawn is flat, and two thirds of the tickets are lawn tickets

This is the honest warning, and it is the reason to read this page before buying resale.

The City of Wilmington puts capacity at 7,200, split 2,400 seated and 4,800 lawn. So most tickets here are lawn tickets. And the lawn has a known problem. It is close to flat, so sitting down often means you cannot see the stage or the screens.

That is not one grumpy review. It comes up repeatedly and independently across years of local discussion, including from people who like the venue and keep going anyway. One long running Wilmington thread on venue tips has attendees describing the same thing in different words. The practical takeaway is to plan on standing once the music starts.

To be fair to the venue, this is not unanimous. Several regulars still rate the night highly, calling it easy to get in and out of and praising the staff, and the setting on the river is genuinely good. The point is narrower. If sightlines matter to you, the seated sections are worth more here than at a normal amphitheater, because the usual lawn advantage of a natural slope is missing.

The one spot regulars actually recommend

There is a workaround, and it is specific enough to be useful.

Several locals name the same place independently. It is a slightly raised grassy strip on the right side as you face the stage, up near the seated area by the restroom building. They describe it as elevated, with an unobstructed view of the stage and the screens, and sound that works. It is farther from the stage than the front of the lawn. That is the trade.

One person who used it says to arrive when doors open, or about an hour before the headliner, if you want that ground. Note the other half of the same conversation. The top of the hill is where the sound falls apart, so higher is not automatically better here.

Getting in, and the address that will send you wrong

Two entry details are worth getting right before you drive.

The mailing address is not the entrance. The venue is 10 Cowan Street. Its own guide puts the fan entrance one block down, next to the parking deck at 41 Harnett Street, and tells you to use that in your GPS.

Entry is mobile only, so download the ticket before you go rather than relying on signal in a crowd. Expect metal detectors and a bag check. Bags must be clear and no bigger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches, with small 6 by 9 inch clutches also allowed. One attendee flagged a detail nobody publishes. A metal money clip in a wallet set the detectors off.

Cashless, but with a safety net

The venue is cash free. What makes it easier than most is the fallback. If you arrive with only cash, Guest Services will swap your cash for a card, free of charge.

That is a real contrast with Cary the night before, which is cashless with no ATMs on site at all. Same run, same state, and one venue solves the problem while the other leaves it with you.

Small things that make the night cheaper

Concession prices are the most common complaint about this venue, with beer reported around $11 to $16. Two rules in the venue’s own policy take the edge off.

You can bring up to a gallon of water, either factory sealed or as an empty bottle you refill inside. Regulars specifically recommend walking in with a large sealed bottle. The venue also sits in downtown Wilmington, so eating and drinking before the show is a short walk rather than a drive. That is not true of most stops on this tour.

The bill, and where this sits in the run

One scheduling note if you want the whole show. Openers on this run have started close to the published time, so a 6:00 PM gate estimate is worth respecting even though it is only an estimate.
