Doors are 6:30 and the show is 7:30, and this time the venue says so

Ty Myers plays Raising Cane’s River Center Arena on Thursday, October 1, 2026, with Lanie Gardner and Benny G opening. Doors are at 6:30 PM and the show starts at 7:30 PM.

Both of those times come from the venue’s own event page, which carries them in its event details. That is worth stating plainly, because on this tour it is unusual. Several venues publish no doors time at all, which leaves fan pages guessing from a rule of thumb.

Here there is no guessing. The venue’s general guide says most events open doors one hour before show time. A 6:30 door for a 7:30 show fits that exactly. Two separate statements on the same site agree, so 6:30 is a fact rather than an estimate.

The Thursday matters more than the times do. This is a weeknight show downtown, and doors open at 6:30, which is when the city is still emptying out of work. Plan your arrival around traffic rather than around the set time.

This is also the tour’s first indoor arena, where every earlier stop was an outdoor amphitheater. So the weather does not matter, the lawn chair question does not exist, and your floor ticket works differently than it did at the last few shows.

Where you park in the garage decides how you leave

The garages are the known weak point of this venue, and locals are unusually specific about the fix.

One regular on the Baton Rouge subreddit explains their routine for River Center events. They park in the garage, then leave the car where it is. Then they spend about an hour eating or walking downtown, waiting out the worst of the traffic before they even try to drive.

In a separate thread about the same garages, two locals independently gave the same advice. Get there early, and park at the bottom so you can get out faster.

Then the best data point of all. The person who asked the original parking question came back after their event to report what happened, and parking right by the exit worked. “Took us 3 min to get out.”

Three minutes against an hour, in the same garage and the same crowd. The only variable was where in the structure they left the car.

Treat that as community reporting rather than a venue promise. But the accounts agree with each other, and the mechanism is obvious enough that it does not need much faith.

The practical version is simple enough. Arrive early enough to get a low level near the exit ramp, because if you end up high in the structure you should plan on a slow crawl down.

Event parking is $10, it is card only on the day, and you can buy it in advance. The East and West garages sit on St. Louis Street and are run by LAZ Parking, who take questions on (225) 389-3306.

The left turn you cannot make

There is one road detail that catches people out. You cannot turn left into the West Garage, because a barrier on the median blocks it.

To get in, you have to be travelling south on St. Louis Street. The venue states this itself, and it is worth a minute of planning.

Coming from the west, take I-10 East and use exit 155A toward LSU. Turn right onto Oklahoma Street, right onto Nicholson Drive, and continue as it becomes St. Louis Street.

Coming from the east, take I-10 West, use exit 155B for I-110 North, then exit 1A for Government Street. Turn left onto Government, then right onto St. Louis.

Either way the West Garage ends up on your left and the East Garage on your right. Which is exactly why the blocked left turn is a problem, and why the East Garage is the easier one to fall into by accident.

If you are being dropped off instead, use River Road. That is the rideshare point for arena events. St. Louis Street is for theatre events, which is a different building in the same complex.

Your floor ticket is a numbered seat, not a pit

If you are buying a floor ticket, this is the thing to know. The floor here is reserved seating in numbered rows, not a standing pit.

The floor is divided into Floor A and Floor B, with a mix position for the sound desk sitting between and behind them. There is no general admission area on the floor plan at all.

The venue never states this in words anywhere. The only place the answer exists is the concert seating chart, and that chart is published as a picture with no written version. So a fan reading the site cannot find it without opening an image.

The rest of the bowl is numbered too. The lower level runs 101 to 116 and 130 to 140. The upper level runs 201 to 215 and 231 to 240. Numbers run clockwise, starting near the stage end.

The stage sits at one end of the room, not in the centre, and that is the genuinely useful part. It means the sections tucked behind and above the stage end are the ones to avoid, even though they can look central on a small map.

Seats themselves are approximately 18 to 22 inches wide, which the venue publishes for anyone who wants to know before they book.

Bring a card, because cash is useless here

Raising Cane’s River Center is a fully cashless building. There is no cash window and no reverse ATM workaround mentioned anywhere.

The box office takes American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. It will ask for a valid photo ID with any card transaction, so bring one even if you are only collecting tickets.

Inside, food and drink are run exclusively in house by Savor. There is no outside food or drink allowed and no independent vendor who might take a note.

Payment rules change sharply from stop to stop on this run, from fully cashless to cash only, which is why there is a tour wide answer on the FAQ page.

If you are collecting from will call, it opens one hour before the gates. The person named on the account has to be there in person with photo ID and the card used to buy. Staff cannot hand tickets to anyone else and cannot change a name over the phone.

Bag sizes, signs, and the caveat most guides skip

Three kinds of bag get in. A clear tote no larger than 12 by 12 by 6 inches, a one gallon clear plastic bag, or a non clear purse, clutch or wallet no larger than 5 by 7 inches.

Diaper bags have to follow the clear bag rule. There are exceptions for medical requirements and special needs.

Now the part that matters and that most guides leave out. The venue attaches its own warning to that size limit. The policy is subject to change depending on event tour management, and it tells you to check the specific event page.

So 12 by 12 by 6 is the building’s default rather than a promise for this date, and a touring production can tighten it. Check the event page in the week of the show.

Signs and posters are allowed up to 18 by 24 inches, with no political content, and some tours ban signs outright regardless.

A few of the prohibited items are genuinely surprising. Smartphone battery packs are banned, which catches people who think of a power bank as a phone accessory. So are tablets and iPads, stickers, glitter, cowbells, mascot headwear and car seats.

Cameras must be small and non professional, with no external flash and no detachable lenses, and no GoPro, monopod, tripod or selfie stick.

One rule here runs the other way from most venues. Umbrellas are allowed inside.

Two more things before you commit to going. There is no re-entry once you leave, so bring any medication in with you. And the show may include strobe lighting, haze, lasers or pyrotechnics.

If you are coming from an outdoor date like Orange Beach or Macon, do not assume the rules travelled with you. An arena screens differently than a lawn.

If you need accessible seating, start now

The lead times here are the longest on this tour, so this section is time sensitive rather than informational.

Requests for aid and services should be made at least 30 business days before the event. The venue says it may be unable to fill a request made any later. Thirty business days is roughly six calendar weeks.

Sign language interpretation needs three weeks and also has to be approved by the performer. That second condition is easy to miss. It means the venue cannot promise it on its own.

Accessible seating is bought through the box office on (225) 389-4940. Say when you buy that you need it, rather than sorting it out on arrival.

On the night, the recommended drop off for arena events is 275 South River Road, near the box office at the Portal A entrance. Note that the theatre in the same complex uses a different drop off entirely.

For parking, the venue points wheelchair users to the West Garage because it is closest to the entrances. Both garages have accessible spaces on every level.

Inside, first aid and guest services are at Portal D. There is an elevator in the North Concourse. The family restroom is in the lower concourse between Portals A and D.

Service animals are welcome. The relief area is on the St. Louis Street side of the building. If you need to use it, tell a guest services manager before you step out. That is what gets you back in past the no re-entry rule.

Buy from Ticketmaster or AXS, and this show is on AXS

There is a contradiction on the venue’s own site here, and it is the kind that could cost you a ticket.

The venue’s A to Z guide says tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com, then warns that it cannot verify the legitimacy of tickets purchased through any other site.

Read on its own, that sentence tells you an AXS checkout is not trustworthy.

But the venue’s box office page names both Ticketmaster and AXS as the official places to buy online. And the venue’s own listing for this date links directly to AXS.

The specific page beats the general one. The A to Z guide is simply out of date. The verified sellers are Ticketmaster and AXS, and for the ty myers baton rouge date the seller is AXS.

It is worth spelling out because it inverts the usual advice. Normally a venue’s anti scam warning steers you toward safety. This one would steer you away from a legitimate seller.

Two things to settle before you pay. All sales are final unless the event is cancelled, and a cancelled event is refunded wherever you bought. And children 2 and older need their own ticket, with no minimum age.

One last note about the bill. Lanie Gardner joins the tour on this date. Baton Rouge is the first of her eight shows on this run, so if you are coming for the openers as much as the headliner, this is the debut. Benny G continues from the earlier dates.
