Ty Myers at Pinewood Bowl Theater: date, time, and who is opening

The Ty Myers Lincoln show is at Pinewood Bowl Theater, 3201 S Coddington Ave, Lincoln, NE 68522, on Friday, September 4, 2026. Music starts at 7:30 PM Central. Brent Cobb and Benny G open.

That start time is confirmed twice over. The venue lists it on its own 2026 summer concert series page. The City of Lincoln, which owns Pioneers Park, prints the same time on its parks page. When the venue and the landlord agree, you can plan around it.

The gate time is a different story, and it is covered further down. In short, nobody official has published one.

If you have been to the Pinewood Bowl musical, the concert rules are different

This is the part most likely to save a Lincoln local a wasted trip back to the car.

Two organizations use the Pinewood Bowl name:

• Pinewood Performing Arts produces the summer outdoor musical, and has since 1949. In 2026 that was Annie, in July.
• Pinewood Bowl Theater is the commercial concert series, which is what Ty Myers is playing.

They share a physical amphitheater and a name. They do not share rules. The musical’s organizers state they are not affiliated with the concert series.

If your mental model of this venue comes from July evenings on a blanket with a picnic, reset it. On September 4 you are walking into a standard modern concert operation that happens to be in a pine hollow.

What you can and cannot bring on September 4

Pinewood Bowl runs a stricter list than either Colorado venue on this tour. Things that are fine at a lot of amphitheaters are not fine here.

Prohibited, and worth knowing before you pack:

• Blankets, lawn chairs, and seat cushions
• Umbrellas of any size
• Strollers, car seats, and booster seats
• Aerosol sunscreen and aerosol bug spray
• Tablets, iPads, and laptops
• Selfie sticks, and signs larger than 8.5 by 11 inches
• Glow items, balloons, and frisbees
• Outside food and drink, coolers, cans, glass, and picnic baskets
• Musical instruments
• Backpacks, mesh bags, partly see through bags, and large purses

Allowed:

• One approved bag per person, inspected at the gate
• One clear, soft sided disposable water bottle, up to 24 ounces, sealed or empty
• Infant supplies, in a clear diaper bag
• Binoculars, without a case
• Medically necessary items, after inspection

Anything prohibited has to go back to your car or in a bin. The venue does not hold items for you, and anything left behind is thrown away.

The bag sizes are locked inside a picture

The venue’s bag policy names the approved categories in text but publishes the dimensions only inside an image, with no text version on the page. That means the numbers cannot be quoted here with confidence, and anyone using a screen reader cannot get at them at all.

Rather than copy sizes from a different building, this page will say plainly what is true: check the chart on the venue’s policy page before you leave home. Do not assume the numbers match Pinnacle Bank Arena downtown. The two venues share an operator but their prohibited lists already differ in several places, so their bag limits may differ too.

Bring repellent, but not in a spray can

The first thing Lincoln locals say about this venue is to bring mosquito repellent. It is a wooded hollow in a large park, in Nebraska, in late summer.

The catch is that aerosol bug spray is prohibited. So the standard advice and the standard product do not match. Bring a pump bottle, a lotion, or wipes, and put it on before you walk down into the bowl.

Parking at Pioneers Park, and the rideshare gate most people miss

Parking is in Pioneers Park and it is free, but getting in is the constraint.

If you are driving: every vehicle enters through the north park entrance on West Van Dorn Street. Attendants direct you to a spot. Traffic backs up on event nights, and the venue says so directly. Leave more time than the drive needs. If you need accessible parking, tell the attendant at the West Van Dorn entrance and you will be directed to it.

If you are taking an Uber or Lyft, use the other gate. Rideshares enter through the east gate at 3201 S Coddington Avenue. An attendant at Buffalo Circle directs traffic. Drop off is at the triangular intersection just east of the Bowl, and the car loops around the triangle and leaves through the east gate. Pickup afterward is the same place, with drivers arriving and leaving through that same east gate.

The venue’s own explanation is that this route exists to avoid the long wait to enter from the north. That is an unusually candid thing for a venue to admit, and it is a strong hint about which entrance to use if you have the choice.

If you are cycling, Lincoln’s trail network reaches Pioneers Park and there are bike racks near the entrance gate to the Bowl. The city asks concertgoers to carpool, bike, and recycle at the venue.

What the venue is actually like: 5,500 seats in a natural hollow

Pinewood Bowl holds 5,500 people, a figure the City of Lincoln publishes itself. For scale, that is roughly two thirds the size of Ford Amphitheater in Colorado Springs and a fraction of Red Rocks.

It is genuinely a bowl. A parks superintendent had spotted the hollow years earlier as a natural amphitheater. Work started in November 1946, and it was dedicated in July 1947 to the men and women of the Second World War. The stage platform was built from sidewalk slabs salvaged from the old Nebraska Capitol. Pines and cedars ring the whole thing. Pioneers Park itself was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The practical consequence of being built into a hillside is that the sight lines are good almost everywhere. Attendees say this consistently, including from the back rows, and it is the most common piece of praise the venue gets. If your seats are further back than you would like, that is less of a problem here than it would be at a flat site.

More recent additions include a box office and lighting towers built in 2021, and artificial turf in the lower part of the bowl near the stage.

Tickets, the box office, and mobile only entry

Tickets are mobile only. Your phone is the ticket and no paper version is issued, so charge it.

The venue names Ticketmaster and AXS, and their apps, as its authorized sources.

If you want to buy in person:

• Before the show: the Pinnacle Bank Arena ticket office, 400 Pinnacle Arena Drive downtown, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 AM to 6 PM
• On September 4: the Pinewood Bowl ticket office at the park, which opens one hour before doors and sells whatever is left

What time does the show end, and what about the weather

No published curfew governs this venue the way a noise permit governs some amphitheaters, but the show is bounded anyway, because Pioneers Park closes at 11:00 PM and your car is parked inside it.

Working from the schedule, a 7:30 PM start with two opening acts and a headline set usually lands somewhere around 10:00 to 10:30 PM. Treat that as an estimate, not a promise.

Early September in Lincoln can still be warm at 7:30 PM. It gets noticeably cooler by the end of the night, and the Bowl sits in shade under trees once the sun drops. A layer you can carry is sensible. Since umbrellas are prohibited, a rain jacket or a poncho is the only workable plan if the forecast turns.

One last piece of timing for the Ty Myers Lincoln date. Everyone who parked leaves through the same north entrance they arrived by. If you would rather not sit in that queue, the rideshare east gate is the way out.
