Ty Myers at Capitol Federal Amphitheater: date, time, and who is opening

The Ty Myers Andover show is at Capitol Federal Amphitheater, 1607 E Central Ave, Andover, KS 67002, on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Music starts at 7:30 PM Central and gates open at 6:30 PM. Brent Cobb and Benny G open.

You may see 7:00 PM listed somewhere. That figure comes from music metadata services rather than from anyone who runs the venue. Select-A-Seat, which is the venue’s own ticketing system, lists 7:30 PM, and the major ticket sites agree with it. Go with 7:30 PM.

The gate time is firmer than it looks. Both the venue and the City of Andover say gates open 60 minutes before the show, and the show time is confirmed, so 6:30 PM follows from arithmetic rather than guesswork.

Heads up: the official FAQ names a venue in another state

This is the strangest thing on this page, and it has a practical consequence, so it is worth two minutes.

The City of Andover, Kansas publishes an official FAQ document for Capitol Federal Amphitheater. It is genuinely useful and it is the most complete public source for several policies on this page. But it mentions “Pinewood Bowl” three times. Pinewood Bowl Theater is in Lincoln, Nebraska, about 300 miles north.

The three lines read:

• “For general admission events, there will be no assigned seating and Pinewood Bowl will be open, without seats on the lawn of the bowl.”
• “Yes, concessions are available for purchase at Pinewood Bowl Theater.”
• “Pinewood Bowl Theater does not safeguard any personal belongings of any type.”

What happened is easy to guess. Both venues are run by Legends Global. Somebody built the Andover document from the Lincoln one and missed three find and replace hits. It is a copy and paste leftover, not a real statement about a real place.

Why it actually matters here. Ty Myers plays Pinewood Bowl in Lincoln on September 4 and Andover on September 5. Those are back to back nights, and plenty of people will go to both. If you read the Andover document, see a Lincoln venue named inside it, and conclude the two share a rulebook, you will pack wrong for one of the two shows. They are not the same rules.

So: use the city document for park hours, rideshare routing and the rain policy, where it is clear and specific. Use the venue’s own pages for bags, water and parking prices. When they conflict, the venue is describing the building it operates.

What you can bring, and why this venue is more generous than most

Capitol Federal Amphitheater has the easiest bag rule of any stop covered on this site so far. Most venues make you pick one bag and stop there. This one does not.

Allowed:

• One clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag up to 12 by 12 by 6 inches, or one clear gallon freezer bag
• Plus one small clutch or wallet up to 4.5 by 6.5 inches, with or without a strap. It can even go inside the clear bag
• One clear plastic bottle, no larger than 20 ounces, either sealed and unopened or completely empty
• Binoculars, as long as they are not in a case
• Infant feeding supplies

Prohibited:

• Lawn chairs, blankets, seat cushions, umbrellas and tarps
• Strollers, wagons and carts
• Outside food and drink, coolers and picnic baskets
• Selfie sticks, tablets and laptops
• Signs bigger than 8.5 by 11 inches
• Glow items, frisbees and beach balls
• Musical instruments
• Pepper spray, mace and weapons of any kind, including pocket knives
• Professional cameras and tripods, and audio or video recording

The water bottle rule has a trap in it

The size and the material are the easy part. The state of the bottle is where people come unstuck. Your bottle has to be either sealed and unopened, or completely empty. A bottle you cracked open on the drive is prohibited even though it is clear, plastic and under 20 ounces.

Carry an empty one and fill it at the refill station inside. It is free, it always passes, and it removes the decision entirely.

Parking, the Bush Parkway rideshare gate, and a $20 voucher worth claiming

Parking costs $15 in advance and $20 on the day, and on-site payment is credit or debit only. Buy ahead through Select-A-Seat and save the $5.

If you are driving, use the Yorktown Parkway entrance. Attendants direct traffic from there.

If you need accessible parking, it is not at the amphitheater. It is in front of the Andover Library, at Central and Bush Parkway just north of the venue, and it carries a $5 fee. Tell the attendant at the Bush Parkway entrance and they will point you in.

If you are taking an Uber or Lyft, you use a different gate from everyone else. Rideshares enter on Bush Parkway, drop passengers at the north entrance to the amphitheater, then continue along Bush Parkway, turn left, and exit onto Central Avenue. Pickup afterward is the same spot. The city says plainly that this route exists to avoid the long wait to get into the park from Yorktown Parkway, which tells you what the Yorktown queue is like.

The $20 rideshare voucher

The City of Andover runs a programme called Fans With A Plan, funded by a $30,000 Kansas Department of Transportation Behavioral Safety Grant. It gives out $20 discount vouchers for Uber and Lyft rides to and from the amphitheater, and this show is on the city’s list of eligible events.

Twenty dollars covers most of a ride to or from Wichita. Take the current code from the city’s page on the day rather than from anywhere else, because the codes are tied to specific events and they change.

A shuttle sometimes runs, but not confirmed for this date

The venue has previously advertised extra parking with a shuttle bus from Prairie Creek Elementary on S YMCA Drive, with the bus marked CONCERT. Every example of it found is attached to a specific past event, and nothing ties it to September 5. Treat it as a possibility rather than a plan, and check the event page in show week.

When the lots open

Here the two official sources disagree. The venue says lots open 60 minutes before gates. The city says 90 minutes. Assume 90 and aim to be there around 5:00 PM. Arriving early and waiting costs you a few minutes. Arriving late to a lot that opened half an hour ago costs you a space.

What the venue is like: 5,200 seats beside Lake George

Capitol Federal Amphitheater holds 5,200 people, a figure the venue publishes itself rather than one copied around ticket resale sites. It opened in 2018 and sits beside Lake George in Andover Central Park, about fifteen miles east of Wichita. The City of Andover owns it and Legends Global runs it.

For scale, it is a touch smaller than Pinewood Bowl in Lincoln at 5,500, and much smaller than Red Rocks. At that size you are close to the stage from most of the venue.

For reserved seating shows the venue puts out plastic folding chairs. That is what you will be sitting on. General admission shows use open lawn seating instead. Either way you cannot bring your own chair.

A few other things that are worth knowing and are easy to miss:

• There is no re-entry. Once you leave, you are done for the night
• Concessions and bars are cashless. All major cards, no cash
• There is a designated smoking area inside
• No tailgating in the lots, and no overnight camping in the park

Tickets and buying in person

The venue sells through Select-A-Seat, which is the local ticketing system rather than a national one, so it is worth going straight there instead of assuming the usual sites are the only route.

If you would rather buy in person, or you want a parking pass ahead of time, the INTRUST Bank Arena box office sells both. That is also the cheapest way to handle parking, since the $15 advance rate only exists before the day.

Charge your phone before you leave regardless. Mobile ticketing is the norm at this venue.

Weather, the Saturday midnight close, and when the night ends

Shows here are rain or shine. Early September in south central Kansas can still be hot at gate time and much more pleasant by the headline set, so a layer you can carry is the sensible call.

If rain looks likely, remember that umbrellas and tarps are prohibited but ponchos, rain coats and trash bags are explicitly allowed. A folded bin liner in your clear bag weighs nothing and is the whole plan.

The end of the night is set by the park rather than by a noise curfew. Andover Central Park is open 6 AM to 11 PM, except on Fridays and Saturdays, when it stays open until midnight. September 5 is a Saturday, so this show gets the later close. Your car is inside the park, so that is the real boundary.

Working from the running order, a 7:30 PM start with two openers usually puts the end of the headline set somewhere around 10:00 to 10:30 PM. Treat that as an estimate. Nothing published sets a hard finish for the Ty Myers Andover date beyond the park’s own hours.

One last note if you are doing both nights of this run. Lincoln’s park closes at 11 PM and Andover’s closes at midnight on a Saturday, so the second night gives you an extra hour of margin getting out.
